What We Tile
Floor tile. Kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, mudrooms, and laundry rooms — set on properly prepared substrate with level, deflection-free underlayment.
Showers and tub surrounds. Tile is only the surface; the waterproofing membrane underneath is the job. We waterproof before a single tile is set.
Kitchen backsplashes. Priced by area and pattern — subway, herringbone, or large format, with grout lines that stay straight.
We’re a residential shop: we don’t do outdoor tile, pool work, or commercial jobs.
How a Tile Job Goes
- Assess. We check the substrate — what’s under the old floor, how level it is, and how much deflection there is.
- Quote by the job. Prep is itemised separately from tile and labour, so you see exactly what you’re paying for.
- Prep. Old flooring removed, backer board or uncoupling membrane installed, showers waterproofed.
- Set, grout, and seal. Tiles set level with even grout lines, then grouted and sealed where it counts.
- Cure times up front. We tell you before we start how long the shower or floor stays out of service — no surprises.
What Tile Work Costs
Tile is quoted by the job because the prep varies so much — but the cost components are consistent. Old flooring removal and disposal runs about $1 to $2 per square foot. Substrate prep — levelling, backer board, uncoupling membrane — runs about $2 to $5 per square foot on the affected areas. Shower waterproofing is a separate line item. Your quote itemises all of it.
